mpg

I ain't telling no stories
My 2011 F250 3.31 17" wheel 6.7 crew cab 4X4 XLT could get 20 mpg on a long trip
reset at fill up not while driving or whatever never went for re-flash offered
my 14 is way off from that though
edit : summer fuel ford cetene boost cruise control 100%

Seems to be normal to me... And what I got on my 2011 more or less. Like PH I was stuck in a single lane at 50 mph for a couple of hundred miles just after filling up. I reset the MPG computer every time I fill up. I got 23 mph. But no way I would choose to go that slow on a 75MPH freeway. I used to get 18 in the 2011, then a Nox recall/reflash in 2012 brought that down a mpg or so.

My 2015 I haven't been able to take a long extended highway trip yet, but the around town is worse than the 2011 and the short (40 mile hwy drives after the reset and filling up) seem to indicate a 16.5 mpg average. I bought basically the identical truck setup the indentical way as my 2011 was. Only difference is 20" on the 2015 vs. 18" on the 2011. I actually cruise at less RPMS in the 2015...

I am looking for the magical real highway speed 25 mpg, 4 ton+, 440 hp diesel truck too... Don't see it happening anytime soon.

My 2001 7.3 supercab 4x4 could break 20 keeping it under 70mph with an economy chip, but the best my 2015 f250 ccsb 4x4 has been able to get so far on a trip is about 18. Better ride, nicer truck, but I don't think it will ever be as efficient as the 7.3.

Hell, everybody gets better fuel mileage tham me! Get around 14 if I work at it!
But at the same time, the last couple of times I was pulling, I was getting around 11 or so, and I dont really pull anything light, either, so.........
And the last oil burner I had was an '83 GMC 6.2L naturally aspirated half ton
Jimmy, and that would only get me 18 to 19 on a good day, and couldnt pull squat with that!!!!!

I don't know why you don't think its not magical, it will take all of the diesel fuel you pump into it and turn it into a S**t eating grin as soon as you step on the skinny pedal..... thats pretty magical!

Well I had one of them magical trucks and it could get 20-22 mpg when I did my part and kept my foot out of the throttle.. staying between 65-70 on a good flat Texas highway. Pulling my 12,300 5'er it would do 11-14 depending on the wind and I did my part and kept my foot out of the throttle.. 60-65 mph and it just purrrrrrrrrrr'ed...

Just traded it off for a '15 dually with 3:73's and know that magical ain't gonna happen no more.

To me, not an expert by any means, all the mileage stated here is pretty good considering the weight, and these trucks have the same aerodynamic properties of a brick! The 2011 F150 I traded for my Super Duty had the 6.2L and 3.73 rear end, it got 13.8 no matter slow or fast you drove it, or what was behind it. Considering what I have now, mid 14's is great!

My truck is pretty magical - puts a magic grin on my face every time I take it on a trip. And I'm just back from a trip across back roads from VT to Maine with a couch in the back and got an actual 19.2 measured on the way over. That with winter blend, snow tires on all four wheel and cold weather. On the way back I came up the pike and got 20.8 measured. 450 miles on lousy roads with winter blend puts a smile on my face because this truck is the most comfortable and powerful rig I have ever owned.

Might not be magic but it is pretty damn close!

I drove gasser trucks prior to 2007. I always got 7-9mpg towing my trailers.

Now, towing the same stuff on the same roads, I average 9-12. I drove 600 miles today, display says 11.7. I love it. I sure wish it were 14 though. I can't break higher than 12 no matter what speed I travel at when I'm towing.

My cruise was set at 72mph, I stopped three times. I-85S, I-65S, I-10W, I-12W. I'm sitting in Slidell.

My empty mpg has never been higher than 18 but I don't drive empty very much so I haven't really tried to see what she'll do.

I wish I had known that, I'm not too far from you. Just sold a place in Picayune, (just across the state line). Where are you headed from there?

My 250 averages about 18.4 per the lie-o-meter on the highway (all I do is highway driving) with cruise set at 63.

Recently I hooked up the GPS to see how accurate my mileage was and to no surprise the speedo is off by about 3 mph at 60 (says 60 doing 57) so in reality the mileage is lower than being reported (which I'm ok with).

The part of this that really bothers me is looking at the warranty side of things, and this applies to all auto manufacturers because the speedos read fast in everything I've ever owned. The reality is they are stealing about 5000 miles worth of warranty from us with the speedos being programmed how they are.

I propose everyone runs 37s and we steal back our 5000 miles
