I don't have a magical truck...
From time to time I read on FTE about trucks that pull 20+ MPG all day long on the freeways. I don't have a magical truck... Yesterday I took a 2.5 hour ride on the freeway (65mph).
Slight breeze, zero degrees outside. 100% cruise control and I reset the meter after the truck was up to temp and I was at freeway speed. I didn't see any regens but one could have occurred and I missed the message. Cruise control was set at 74mph.
This is the exact mileage (mpg) my 2011 truck had. Had been hoping for the magical 25mpg truck.

I haven't paid much attention to mine, but when I flip thru and look at the average, it's usually in the mid to low 14's. That's combined mileage, city, highway and light towing (light for these beasts anyway). And I'm running 35" Toyo's, so all in all, that's pretty good. Considering the weight of the truck and I drive it like I can afford to fix it......

Fuel milage
I own a 2011 f350 DRW Lariat and average around 15-16 with my in-town commute, up from 14-15 before the reflash. On the highway at 65, I can get up to 18-19. I rented a 2014 f250 XLT for a road trip once, and it got 23 on the highway at 65. I think mpg is so subjective because of the variables. I expect a lighter truck (XLT vs. Lariat, SRW vs DRW) to get better fuel economy, but terrain and environment play a significant factor. I doubt there are any magic trucks out there, but the right combination of factors (base model, flat terrain, warm temperature, high quality fuel) could add up for a person to achieve what seems like unobtainable fuel economy.

I made a lot of trips between Utah and North Dakota. Usually about 14 hours each way. Most of the trips were on I-15 and I-90 at 80 mph, with a couple hours of two lane hiway between Idaho Falls and Bozeman at 65 mph. I almost always got 18.0 to 18.5 for the trip average.
I made a slower trip between Salt Lake City and Jackson Hole where I stayed at 65 mph for the 250 miles. The truck got 22 mpg for the trip up and 23 mpg for the trip back. So the mileage jumps when you slow down.
Around home with chasing between jobsites, lumber yards, plumbing supply house, banks etc, I stay pretty consistent at 14 mpg.
And hook a trailer up and I'm at 11 mpg. Doesn't seem to matter what trailer. A 13,000 lbs Gooseneck or a flatbed with a skid loader on it. I'm getting 11.
I'm running a pretty much stock truck, 3.55 rear end with the 20" rims and tires.

On a recent trip down south I reset my LOM while cruising down the highway at 60-65ish. I was right around 20 or so. When I pushed on the go pedal some more I dropped down around 18. This was all on quite flat roads and I am assuming mon-winter fuel due to the southern temps.
I usually get around 15 on winter blend with combination driving over rolling terrain. I have the 355 rear.
It would be interesting to see if higher cetane fuel gives better mpg's.

I have decided to simply stop looking and no longer check my MPG. I may not get the MPG of a SRW truck, but I can travel almost twice a far between fuel fill ups. Because my wide hips carry twice the fuel of most.....LOL!!!!!
And yes, I know there are one or two of you out there who carry twice and trice mine.
