If you told me it was a Limited, I would believe you until I looked inside and saw the two tone seats.

The front bumper looks a little tweaked, could be my eyes, but it looks tweaked to me. Between the paintjob, the tweaked front bumper, and the lift, I'd have to guess that this truck was in some sort of wreck and was rebuilt.

I don't know what it is, but something tells me a better truck at a better price is out there for you.
I have to agree, I would pass

OK, damn. I see the trim has been painted, wouldn't a slight bit of it be silver, like 2003 Ford Excursion trim? Anyways what do you guys think about that one? It is about 20 minutes away, the problem is I'll have to see if I can get a loan through the bank (not sure how that will go ). The truck looks pretty good on the exterior, the interior radio and climate control screens need to be replaced I see, good negotiating point, never heard of that though? how would I replace that...This has been listed for a while (I have seen it relisted many times)..anything else potentially wrong? Do you think this one is a no go too?

Edit: Just saw that it might have a slight dent on the right side near the rear door handle, not sure if something is wrong above the right rear wheel well either..

Not bad! Just have to see if I can figure out how to get a loan for the vehicle, never used a credit union before, recommendations? Also, 2005 Ford Excursion XLT, $11,999 - Cars.com was relisted again, great looking vehicle however according to it's carfax it has been in an accident..still looking at the 03 though! Does anything look wrong with the 03 besides the radio and climate control?

A couple things,

I wrecked an 04 Eddie Bauer, I kept the wreck and when I bought my 05 Limited I swapped the whole set of seats, carpet, and dash bezel.

I liked the two tone better, and I like the monochrome exterior better. Maybe a previous owner did the same?

Second, if you pull the trigger on that one and need a stock radio, I can see if I can get the one from the wrecked truck. That's assuming you want it stock.

Good luck in the hunt, a few people here have had good luck getting some really clean ones at fair prices recently

I just gave away my OEM deck a week or so ago on here to a member down in NC or I would offer it up to you. Personally I would never buy one with cloth but that's just my personal preference.

The only thing I wouldn point out is the seat covers on the front seats, they may be hiding a story behind the seat's actual condition. They could also be protecting the leather on the front seats and those were the ones that were used regularly. The rear seats look like they've been rarely sat in.

Something must have fallen against the radio and automatic climate control, but those are two easily replaceable things.

Side note: I forsee this become an "Apocalyse-esque" thread

Yeah I figured the seat covers could be hiding something or it could be protecting them like you said. I'll see what I can do in regards to the vehicle, hopefully I can get something sorted out with the bank.

Yea this 2003 looks like it's worth a look. I agree that something probably whacked and broke the CC and stereo. That should be easy to take care of.

Razzi mentioned this becoming like the "Gotta find Apoc the perfect Ex" thread. If that's the case, then we need requirements! Yes I'm an systems engineer and gotta put some process into this. Requirements, nice-to-haves, and location!

I also agree with Razzi about the seat covers. They could hide some nasty stuff or be protecting pristine seats. Let us know how it goes!

To ad, in 2001 I bought a two tone f150 brand new and was a member of another truck forum that a magazine bought....anyway, there were several people there who bought two tones and painted the bottom to match as soon as they got them. Something about certain colors availability and personal preferences. It might just be a personalized vehicle and not wrecked at all. Only an in depth personal look would be able to determine that.

I appreciate the comment!

I know this thread is turning into Apoc's thread!!! I don't want to get too excited though because I have to see if I can apply to join a credit union and get a loan. We will see!

If things don't work out for Joe on this one, I'm in need of a radio to fill the giant hole in my dash Do you happen to know if it's a clean swap into a 2000 I'd be very interested if so. Thanks Harley
