I was an EVOC instructor for a couple of years up at BIR... It was always a blast with you guys... Running WFO with lights and siren going!!!! I think I had more fun doing that instruction than I did the Performance Driving classes.. Less stressful anyways..
It is a riot with the group we had.......seems like it always a riot. Like i said I would pay out of pocket to be out there again all day. We used our own squads which I was a little confused about. Why wear and tear on our squads?

Because the wear and tear on the school's Crown Vics was forcing a price increase and the counties asked for a price break if they brought their own vehicles... I guess since the counties were already paying maintenance on their cruisers they felt that the cost savings on the training was justified..
We would still use the school's cars for such things as pit manuevers..
Bad part about using the cruisers is that sometimes the instructors had to ride in the back seat. You know how much room there "isn't" back there... No seat belts in the ones I was in. Bottom of the front seats blocked off so no room for your feet.. That part sucked for the instructors..
As I was driving and showing high speed corner entry - I did take one cruiser and its normal driver into turn1 at somewhere north of 120 and he was squeeling like a school girl!!!
Fun day!!!

I can't say I know anything about the back seat of a police cruiser! Lol
We (Campus Deputies) get an ol 2008 Crown Vic with only 47K! The rest of the road guys are almost switched over to the Taurus. Still a few Vics left in the fleet. I like the Vic for room but hands down the Taurus can out handle the Vic anyday! The Taurus I had yesterday was AWD so handles like a beast in the corners!
I pushed it too far yesterday in the intersection scenario and took out a few cones.
