Hey everyone !!
A new month is upon us! One month closer to getting home. Wife says there is still snow in yard from the other day but it is melting away. Looks like I will have to buy a snow shovel and some ice melt before next winter. Living in north Georgia is not the same as living in south Georgia!
I should be out of here sometime in Aug/Sept time frame. Anyone interested in doing some type of GTG around the October time frame? Was thinking about checking out the caffeine and octane event: Caffeine & Octane | Coming Soon All depends on when I get back.
That show looks very fancy. . ATL is a little too far of a drive for me though
I understand about the drive but from what I heard they have everything there. Bikes, cars, trucks, exotics, hot rods. Something for just about everybody.
Haven't been on here in quite some time but I'm still kickin'. Been getting the ol' 79 ready for mud bog season. First race of the season was supposed to start Saturday but was postponed until April. How's your truck coming Chief?
I have my parts list together but that's about it. I am still deployed to Afghanistan till AUG/SEPT so I can't really do anything. I harassed the crap out of the wife and she went and picked me up a new play toy.
Hey everyone!
Weather has been really bad the last 2 days. I order a few things today for the 79 F100. I mainly want to work on the mechanical stuff first then get her nice and pretty. Ready to get home and get a little greasy.
I have to find a clip for the trans kick down. It seems to have disappeared somewhere. Someone along the way someone also disconnected the choke so I am going to look into that. A couple more weeks till vacation time !!!
My parts are on the way !!! Going to buy a few parts at a time so they are waiting for me when I get home for good. But a majority of the stuff I need I can get from an auto parts store like brakes, bearings, etc. I am ready to get on home and get started!!
Yea,nothing big but I was finally able to get my 78 to the local cruise in last sat. It hasn't left the yard under its own power in a few years. Been missing that thing. Hasn't been really drivable in about 5 years. Oil pressure issues in the 351, then it failed. Bought a great big mud truck(13in lift)78? F150 called Brutus, had a supposed good 460 in it. Got it swapped and oil pressure was crap in it too. So the truck ran around the yard and down the street was about it. finally got funds to buy a long block and do it right. Its a Hoss now
Redneck, I checked out your thread about the engine upgrade. Awesome work. I'll let you know how fun the lighting is once I get to finally drive it. The wife says it's a beast.
The first things I ordered arrived at the house yesterday!! Tomorrow is payday so I am going to order a few more things. I'm ready to get my late father in-laws truck the way it should be. Life got in the way for way too long. This is my last deployment before I retire so I should be able to finally do some work on it. It was finally really nice here today, jacket in the morning but warmed up quickly.
