I have a 2010 F-150 that I just bought and my mirror has a glitch in the mirror when I put it in back up or reverse. Sometimes the picture works some times the picture start to go hay wire. I sometimes wiggle the shifter (automatic transmission) and it will work. Sometime it won't. Could it be a lose wire? Some one out there ever have this problem?
The wiring at the rear is subject to a bunch of abuse and as such it is a common source of problems. I could give you the connector numbers but they'll likely mean little to you. It's easier to crawl underneath the back end and trace the wires down from the camera. There are a couple connectors in series, weaving back toward the left side of the truck, prior to the wiring joining the main harness. Have a close, close look and look for green corrosion at the various connectors.
Failing that, head to your local Ford store and have it diagnosed. An IDS is needed to communicate with the modules which allow for the reversing camera function. Happy hunting.

Could it be an easy fix?
Hi Franitti,
If the DIY approach doesn't work out, you can always have your local Ford Dealership inspect. How many miles are on the truck?
Only 59,000. Didn't seem much to me. Taught it was a great buy and they replaced the drivers front chair and a few other things I don't want to mention.
