That vehicle appeals to a very small number of people.
its worth what you are willing to pay and the seller is willing to accept.
Not the answer you want, but restoration cost will exceed value.
If it were me and I wanted it, I would pay $1000 for it, and only if the DMV will title it.
this one brought $1100 across the scales right before I bought it. It was much longer
I paid the scrap yard $1400
Had a good running 292
we shortened and dropped it and changed suspension
sold nearly $300 worth scrap off it back to the scrap yard that we removed during the build process with more to go
Will use the 292 in another project
would be a cool ride to fill with over 40 subwoofers and amps , paint it with graffiti and take it to the truck shows .... or fill it with custom seating , a wet bar , a stripper pole , nice stereo and neon lighting and have yourself a party bus
In Montana the fact that it ha no title is no big deal. You can get a lost title app or a builders title. A search is done to see if it has been reported stolen if not the serial number is verified by a Highway patrol and a title can be issued. I would think all states have something similar to this procedure. As far as what it is worth. That all depends as said earlier.
That would be one nice project converting to an RV. There may be easier and quicker method, and it has been over 2 years ago, but I believe one can acquire title thru a 'lean sale' if you declare the vehicle abandoned; in Ca. of all places. It cost me $5 to obtain a copy from DMV of the vehicle(s) history of ownership where you are required to send a registered letter advising of the 'lean' sale to include the amount required to reclaim the vehicle. Instructions were fairly clear but it can take up to 3 to 6 months. Fortunately I did not have to go thru the process, apparently word got out how much I was going to charge to reclaim the vehicle and it was removed from the property within a week.

Lien sales are usually conducted by dealers, independent garages and body shops when the owners do not pay the repair bill.
CA DMV tosses away all the paperwork if the vehicle is not registered for 7 consecutive years.
Junkyards return the plates and titles to the CA DMV .. It's almost impossible to retitle a vehicle bought from a junkyard.
There is next to no demand for the 100's of 1,000's of school busses and fire trucks scattered across the US & Canada.
