Why? Because I like the sound and I can go 100,000 miles before I need to clean it. I will clean it annually though, right after pollen season.
I don't think it changed the performance at all but it's a nice set up and it uses duct work to ensure that air from under the hood is not ingested.
I will certainly say that from appearances it does look well engineered, don't see the typical alum tubing or sucking of air from the engine bay and in typical K&N fashion it looks good. My guess...At best you have some gains at worst its a wash...let us know if you see any measurable gains.
Thank you everyone for y'alls opinion. I took all of them in consideration. I think I'll just stick to the ford factory Intake. If I'm not going to see any gains or jeopardize my MAF sensor. Then, I don't see why should I spend a lot of money on buying one. Thanks again! for yall's honest opinion.

Sure thing. I will make a thread about it some day. I like the sound. Actually, if I could just buy the tube from the turbo inlet to the air box I wouldn't have changed the filter. I hate those intake tubes with all the sound dampener cavities. I know ford engineers are smarter than I am but dang, just put a straight tube on it!
I became very Anti CAI back in the 7.3PSD day. While in theory it made a difference, also in the seat of the pants feel o meter to be honest. But, it also allowed a very small fine particle of dust, rock or some other debris to get past the foam filter flow down the intake tube resulting in an out of pocket replacement of a turbo which at that time I got a heck of a deal on the turbo and installation for only $1K.
After that I still did an occasional CAI kit, but they were on older model year vehicles like my 1999 Mustang GT, Focus SVT and my F250 6.8 V10. But never again on a Turbo/Super Charged engine.
As for the Road Armor Bumper, I like them. There are a few Superduty owners around here that have them, they look great. But alas I'm cheap hence my Ford OEM bumber $300 Ranch Hand Grille Guard and Curt front receiver hitch.
