Hi, I have an old 1965 tow truck, the trouble it's been out in the elements in the Pacific Northwest, so saying it's in rough condition is an understatement. It was on a episode of the old show Taxi, but I think it might be too far gone.
Thoughts, opinions?

that is a big opening front fender some 4wd guy might want that
First and Foremost, Welcome to the Family of Ford Truck Enthusiast! Without looking at the interior, engine compartment, cab mounts, radiator support, etc., IMO it will cost considerable more to get road worthy than it's worth, even if you put all the work into yourself. I hate to see one of these vintage treasures sent to the bone yard, especially a 65-66 tow truck. You may be able to salvage some of the hard to come-by items; hood, fenders, doors, etc., for either as a donor, or for selling parts, would not know until close inspection, especially to the items mentioned to determine if there's serious metal rot?? There are quite a few of the 61-66 Ford pickups that one can pick up at a reasonable price in fair to good condition. Speaking from experience, let someone else put all the labor intensive work into it then you pick it up and fine tune it. Anyhow, that's my opinion for what it's worth.
Believe it or not, but that beast was still rescuing stranded drivers all the way up to 1991, first in CA then WA. Sad to see the shape it's in, but yeah, I think it's too far gone to restore.
Just wondering if I should list it over on Craig's List in the hope that it's final act could go to helping another fellow Ford, or if it's time to call it and let the scrappers haul it away.
Schoo, thanks for letting me know about the bumper, but I just don't have the time to part it out.

Too bad, IMO worth more parting out than having it hauled away. If you know any youngsters, or persons interested in disassembly and cleaning for a few $ may want to consider; as Roy mentioned, if those are 4x4 front fenders and clean up there are a couple 61-66 single standard front fenders that are, in questionable condition, going for $350 ea., not to mention the hood, doors, and especially what appears to be an anodized alum grille, should they clean up and have no serious rust issues? Anyhow, I can relate when it comes to finding time?
doors , fenders , hood are all very sellable ! that front stone guard behind the bumper is VERY hard to find and sought after . I wouldn't send it to a scrap yard just yet . Try and list the truck as a whole or sell off the good parts first .
