Clutch issue, probably easy answer
I went to leave when it was -5 outside.
I push the clutch in; put it in reverse and it goes just like it should.
BUT I could not for the life of me get it to shift into any other gear after that for several minutes. It actually was going into reverse without the help of the clutch at all. (it felt like the clutch was sort of releasing to put it into gear)
Nothing changed with the pedal feel (maybe a little softer but negligible)
The stick still felt good, it just wouldn't go into gear short of jamming it.
Which I wasn't trying to do.
I sat in the road in front of my house for a few minutes; pushing the clutch in like crazy to try and grab a forward gear to get back into the driveway.
It finally worked and after a few more minutes I was shifting fine.
Was the clutch froze?
Could the linkage/z-bar of froze up enough to cause that sort of issue?
I'm hoping it's nothing too serious. Since the clutch still feels tight, and will still stall the truck out.
The truck shifted just fine today with a temp of -6
It's too dang cold to crawl under and try and sort it out without knowing what to really look for in this case.
update still works ok, I'm pretty sure it is related to the linkage at this point.
update 2: crawled under had the GF push the clutch while I looked and well I don't know...
It looks ok to me but I'm not on top of what looks right and doesn't. Still working though..
