Trans Talk. 4r75e
Hello everyone,
I have been planning a build for a few years now. Laugh all you want, it's a 8 second 1/4 mile Ford Expedition. So me and my 6 passengers can laugh as we walk Bugatti's and and Ferrari's alike. Yes this sounds stupid and yes I know how expensive it can get. But I don't care about that. The goal is to have an awesome truck that drops jaws of everyone that sees it, and gives a good name to Ford products.
The plan: up to 2000 Hp with a 4 speed AUTO trans. 4x4 if I can find a transfer case that will hold up. Big tires, little lowering kit, full interior, and a TwinTurbo and Supercharged 5.4L engine. STREETABLE is a must so different tunes will be implemented when necessary.
Here's the big question, I know the O/D in the trans missions aren't designed for acceleration. However I want all gears for acceleration if I can because I wanna run the Texas mile at least once a year. Is there anything I can do to make the 4th gear usable? I will pull the trans apart and send out a band to be made out whatever material if I have to. Not worried about money if it will last a few years.
