Yesterday the truck fired up fine, i get out from being a work for a while, the truck doesn't fire, I tried starting fluid, didnt work. I go out this morning and now the truck doesn't even have any *** to start, im not sure how to explain it but it doesn't feel like theres any compression to start, its more of like a whine, its like it lost all power to start.

Um, those are completely contradictory statements? So is it starting or isn't it?

If it isn't starting, is it CRANKING?

If it's cranking, do you see the tach moving?

And still no answer to question 2 in post 2 - do you get a WTS light?

Um, It's CRANKING, yes. Yes there is a Wait to Start light, like I said, last night the truck was cranking and acting like it wanting to start, a few times it would stay running for a few second in the cranking position. Today, the truck is cranking and turning over just fine but it doesn't have any *** to start itself, It's more like a weak crank if that makes sense, I'm not sure how to explain. The batteries are good.

Is the tach moving when you crank it?

Do you see any smoke from the tailpipe?

What's the temperature there. It sounds to me like you have a major glow plug problem AND the batteries have been drained from excessive cranking. The whine is a bit curious. That could be the starter not "engaging" ( someone remind me what the doodad that engages the starter to the flywheel is).

That's what I'm thinking, around 15 degrees, I needed to replace the glow plugs prior to this but it hasn't been an issue, last night the truck was sounding good while i was cranking it, today its very weak and tired

I believe what you are looking for is the Bendix drive.

Starter could be burnt out, along with the GP problems.

That would be the starter solenoid activating the bendix spring which engages the starter gear to the flywheel ring gear. But the OP says that the engine is turning over.

Do you remember the last GP change? Which GP's were used? Valve covers, were they OE or were they dorman parts store UVHC's?

I'm not exactly sure, It's been a while. Problem I'm having is that last night the truck had a good hard crank to it, now today it's all worn out and sounds very weak, I wasn't sure if i changed the glow plugs, if it would fix it.

Did you try plugging the truck in? Batteries were freshly charged this morning?

Yeah I had it plugged in for a while and the batteries are charged, It has a fast cranking to it but it doesn't shake and rumble like it used to when i started it, now its just nothing, cranking thats it. Kinda hard to explain
