England Calling
I have been lurking on this great site for a while now and figure its about time I posted some pic's and introduced myself
My name is Stephen Brennan, I live in London, England and have owned my 1954 F100 for about 3 years
My truck came from South Africa and is unusual in that it is right hand drive and fitted with a Flathead V8 (I think the USA stopped using them in 1953)
I am a year and a half into a full rebuild, I shall keep the truck mostly stock with the flattie but shall have servo brakes, 12v electrics etc and hopefully a 5 speed gearbox (transmission).
I have enjoyed the banter on this site and have learned a hell of a lot, I look forward to joining in in the future

Glad to see your gonna keep the Flatmotor under the Bonnet, not enough of them around here.
Since you've lurking in the shadows for awhile I'll forgo the usual warnings about the "Dark Side"
Welcome to FTE! That is quite an interesting truck you have there. I would love to see some close up pics of the interior and hood trim. From your gallery, it looks like the passenger, er, driver's, er.....OK, if you're sitting in the truck, the right hand side (your right is the same as our right, right?) hood trim piece looks like a left hand side trim piece from a '56, only mounted backwards! Now, so I will stop confusing myself and everyone else, a few more pics in the gallery would be a plus!
Welcome and keep us posted on your progress. Cheers!
I posted a few more pics which show the bonnet (hood) side emblems
I think they are from a 56 but on the wrong sides
If I remember correctly they were only held on by 2 nuts
I dont have any pic's of the interior but it looks just like the USA built trucks I have seen over here except for having the steering wheel and instruments on the right (correct
) sideThis truck has a 3 speed floor shift gearbox (transmission)
I dont know if it was built that way (easier than redesigning a right hand column shift) or if someone swapped it later. The cover has been modified with a hammer
Dose anyone know where I can get a English / American dictionary ?

Thanks again
Steve B

You brits much always wear belts since those pounds must weigh a little bit.

Nice truck. It looks to be in great shape!

Was your truck built in South Africa, or or just purchased from there?
Would love to see some interior pics, especially the right hand drive and that 3 speed floor shift set up.

Watch out for Mr. Bean, he has a thing for blue vehicles!

Great name there and nice truck. I'd love to see it at soem of our shows, watch people try to figure out if you switched it or if it was factory.
Ask and you shall receive much information, some ribbing, but most of all comraderie among folks who love the blue oval.
Don't be a stranger.

In answer to Kenny's question I believe this truck was assembled in South Africa from parts made in the USA, the engine was made in Canada, I think they did the same thing in Australia and New Zealand
Unfortunately I didn't take any pictures of the interior before I took the truck apart, i will take a picture of the dash at the weekend
Cheers
