Anyone put a set of 18 or 20's on their 48-52 F1?? Just curious of your set up? Looking to drop mine 3-4" and put a nice set of black 5 star style wheels on it. Looking for some input before I start....
I have 235/65R17s on 8" rims on my '54. 18s or 20s shouldn't be a problem if you get the right profile tire and offset rims. Mine is a low budget project so I looked around for what a common truck tire size is these days, bought used tires and Black Rock 941781245 Dune 17x8 steel wheels with zero offset from Summit Racing.
I am running 18s on my 51, but the body is not on yet so no height pics. I will be at least 4" lower than stock, up to 6" depending on how much the suspension comes down when assembled.
Not stock height. I'm not sure how much lower han stock. It's about 8 inches to the bottom of the running boards and 11 inches to the bottom of the front bumper. It's a little lower than that in the photo because of the small load and the rear springs have all but 3 leaves removed. The diameter of my 235/65R17 are pretty close to stock.
Not the model years you requested but you get a feel for 18 inchers in big fenders and lowered. I've since lowered the rear an additional 1.5", but can't find any pictures on this PC.
I get a slight rub if the suspension compresses abruptly on turn. Otherwise no rub.

Front clip is from a 71 firebird that was a big block car so it was classed as an HD (Heavy Duty) those days. The front springs are oem replacement for that car to keep it fresh.
The rear is now a triangulated 4 bar from welders series, and I stayed static with QA1 coil overs. I'm a low vehicle person so I left myself space to convert to bags if I got the itch. I raised the bed 3-1/4" to clear the 9" housing. All of this was done after initially flipping the axle, removing leafs, and flipping the perches. Ride was harsh and traction/wheel hop was an issue, hence the major path change.
