The only difference is that it was 50 deg outside on the return trip where it was 30 deg on the initial trip.

In reading through posts the only difference in I see is on my last fill-up which was at a Murphy - not my 1st choice but all that was around. The pump had the ULSD sticker on it. Could it still have a have a large amount of Bio in it?

In data collection all I have is the Edge, truck odo., and fuel dispensers. They have been constant with the biggest variable being different fuel dispensers.

I will post findings on next OA if it is out of whack. In the meantime I will enjoy the increased MPG and hope that what I am seeing is a new baseline for the motor. I love the truck and it runs perfectly regardless of the condition or the load.

Like I said... Ambient temperature

Regen

I see the same as you, I regen about 100 -150 empty in city driving I use good fuel. Nothing I have tried has worked. I have had two dealers say no problem. Its been that way for 2 years of logging. When I tow and I see a regen every 600 miles. Truck runs great. I monitor it with the edge insight and a datasheet. After Towing I get about 200+ miles before it does a Regen.

My wife VW Passet see a regen every 150 miles. So both are close.

On the fuel in oil issues resample new oil at 3000. With oil analyses you look for trends not single points. It could be as simple as a bad analyses, or not finish Active Regens.

I think Troy could have something with ambient temperature and maybe humidly.

Who changes oil at 5000 and who uses computer

I'm an old fart and pretty set in my ways. Diesel trucks are supposed to get oil changed at 5000 miles, right. Now the manual says to change it when the computer tells me to. Can I trust the computer? I did the first two changes at 5000 miles and then at 10,000 miles. Now I'm at 15,000 and the computer says the oil is OK. So.... I'm wondering how many of y'all are using the computer and are you happy with the results. Anybody getting poor oil reports from following the computer?

I am sticking to the 5K interval myself. If it were all hwy then I might consider a longer interval.

Tough question and tougher answer.

Back in the days of the 60's I changed oil every 3k mi, over the years I have increased the miles and so has the mauf, all the way out to 15k. All this is predicated on better engine building, closer tolerances!

Now I rely on my Ford computer to tell me, whether its telling me straight stuff or not I do not know as its not solely based upon miles but rather a complex algorithm of various inputs.

In the 6.7 case...I will trust Ford on this, I have a warranty and they maintain it...
