Thoughts on Used Engine Value

OK, I know that there are a lot of variables but what would a used '02 engine be worth at worst? Value as a core with all parts there.

The condition of the Block and Crankshaft is key for pricing. The cores are getting difficult to find. IF in good condition (requires no re-sleeve), I've got them for anywhere between 1,000 - $3,000 with no work and from vendors upwards of $3,000 - $5,000 machined. The remainder of the parts are plentiful.

But, you have to find the right person in the right situation to get top dollar.
