He didn't glenn. I just remember him saying they will perform better. It might be worth giving him a call

I might just do that Nick. I really would like to see or hear from someone some real life facts about them. I talked to David Lott at Diesel Innovations and he said there is to many variables to say what it would do temp wise.

I know this has transitioned to a different subject, but, I have a couple other questions.
1) Assuming there is a cup failure, is it worth me replacing the cups myself? Doesn't seem too difficult, but, just want to make sure that I'm not over looking something that will give me problems later on.
2) I have heard (from another guy) that it would be better to get new heads ($400 per head with exchange) that already have the cups installed. Is it really that difficult to get the cups to seat?

I know I'll have to probably have to replace the water pump, thermostat, radiator hoses, and possibly heater hoses as well.

I want to do as much of the work myself that I can possibly do, I get more satisfaction that way. But, since this is my daily driver, I don't want to shoot myself in the foot.

I plan on doing all cups and replace the injectors at the same time.

400 bucks per head, I'm assuming all the hardware is included but you will also need 2 head gaskets as well. Oem are roughly $90 through riffraff and personally I'd stick with the oem, so now your looking at about a grand and you've got to remove the heads, not the easiest task inside the engine compartment but it is doable. Personally though I would just get the cup set and rent the tool from riffraff. I'm pretty sure it even comes with new injector orings. Just make sure you do a good job cleaning. I used a small wire wheel on a disk. The only reason the new cups fail is due to poor prep.

Thanks for the quick response. I honestly think I'll go the route of replacing the cups myself. Saving a grand on the heads leaves more money for exhaust and an air intake.

Are you sure you spilled water on it and not Jack Daniels Rich? Seems like your computer is drunk!

As for the pre and post, the easiest way I see is to tie in two temp sensors to the last bit of pipe before the boot. The next would be to figure out a way to tie it into a system the PCM reads to give you the live readout. Maybe the AIT sensor maybe? I'm probably thinking too far into it.

You could always just manual log in the temps into your data log right?
