Well, it had to happen after many miles of troublefree driving....I blew the carrier bearing on the driveshaft and had to replace the whole unit.
Good part is the unit is not nasty expensive and the repair is pretty quick, had to wait for the part to arrive from Ford warehouse but otherwise not so bad.
I have 151,000 on her now so I don't think that is so bad, I have worked her since new and have had very few issues.
Yeah it's 151,000 km and I agree that I have been doing well with luck for sure!
The truck is running fine, no issues (I get the stumble from the frickin water in the CAC now and then but never been a big issue) she is tough for sure. Like I said, I have been working her since new with my cap and weight in it and so far so good...fingers crossed.
The new shaft was about $500 for me and install is super easy so the bill was not too awful...really glad it went right near my shop with no drama out on the highway with lock ups and crashing etc!
Got it back on the road next day, had to wait for the part to ship overnight and she works just like always again... I'm happy.
