E Locking rear

Let me know if this is normal.
We had snow and ice here in NC and today as I was slipping around I stopped, put it in N, pulled the E lock button out and went on my way. Went to turn into a driveway and it sounded like the rear end was binding up. Like when I use FWD on dry pavement, but from the back. Normal? or am I in trouble? Truck only has 1500 mi on it

Thanks gents

If the rear is locked and you are turning you have both wheels turning at the same speed but one wheel is traveling a longer distance than the other so yeah, its gonna feel like that.

Shouldn't be able to harm anything with the e locker on becsuse it will automatically disengage when you go too fast or turn too tight. You also don't have to put it in neutral to engage it; just pull the **** and go.

Yes Sir... especially these last few weeks in Snowachusetts! Works great... kicks out a 20 mph and tells you so... and, with the way the roads have been, I haven't noticed any of the chatter the the OP mentioned.

We haven't had any dry roads for almost 4 weeks or I'm sure I'd be hearing the same thing as he asked about... lockers do that (as opposed to limited slip).

I've always been at a stop when I've engaged it.

I didn't know it would automatically disengage either if you went too fast.

If I need to engage it on the move I'll let off the gas and engage the locker. I do the same thing to disengage it, but I've noticed that there is a slight delay in it unlocking sometimes. The binding while turning is normal when the locker is engaged because your dragging one wheel as you turn. I wouldn't make a habit of turning on dry pavement with the locker on because it is hard on everything.

If you pull it out and engage diff, shuts off over 20mph. Leave switch pulled out, will it re-engage when you slow to less than 20? I have never tried it in 4 wd, never felt the need . Just curious. I will try it in 2wd instead of switching to 4wd.
