im looking a a set of late model 8 bolt ford wheels. im just curious to know if they will fit on a 52 f3. They're off of a 08 f350
I think that's too new. I think they changed the bolt pattern sometime in the 90s. The wheels on my truck came from an 88-89 F250. Someone more knowledgeable will chime in if I'm wrong though.
The 1997 F-250HD is the last Ford truck to use the 8 x 6.5" pattern. The E Series vans and Dodge trucks continued it's use well into the 2000s. Might even be to the present, but I haven't documented exact years.
These will work on your 1952 because the F-3s were switched in late 1951 to 12" rear drums. The earlier F-3s have 14" drums that won't clear a 16" wheel. The 1956 and later F-250 tubeless 17.5" and 19.5" wheels will clear the 14" drums. It might even be that modern Dodge type 17" wheels might clear these older drums. Wish somebody could tell us whether they've had luck doing that. Stu
