Just replaced the steering column upper shaft and the bearings. Now that everything is done the truck wont start. when i turn the key its just silence. The motor wont even crank. Any suggestions for me?
Hey there, Can you tell me the Year model engine size of your truck? Does it have a transponder key? After market alarm system? Did you change out the lock cylinder when you changed the upper part of the column?

i believe it has a transponder key
and it has a alarm.
I disnt replace the lock cylinder
Ok this is a silly question but did you check your battery and battery connections?
Off the top of my head I would double check all of the electrical connectors in the column, check to make sure none of them are lose (I should probably be flamed for this but Fords electrical connectors aren't the best in the world) they are often difficult to get apart and the develop lose connections in the plastic connectors themselves. If its still giving you grief pop off the radio Bezel and check the wire harnesses going into your GEM, (would be the black box on the left).
I have a feeling it might just be a lose connection some ware in the dash harness thats causing it not to detect your transponder key.
Curiously are you getting a check engine light at all?
