VetNetA forum dedicated to ALL Veterans... their unique needs and wants. A place where Veterans old and new can discuss their problems and find the help and support they are looking for.
They were saying:
"At a Feb. 2 press briefing, VA administrators facetiously claimed that sick vets don't want to see outside physicians, and that use of the Choice Cards was "much lower" than they had expected."
I got my "choice card" in the mail on January 30th. I had had it for a whole 2 days when that Feb 2nd press briefing was held.
It's not much of a choice anyway. Essentially, per the instructions that came with mine,
1. Only if the VA can't get you in within 30 days,
2. more than 40 miles from a VA Facility
3. You need to travel by plane or boat to get to a VA facility......
and then you still have to call for ADVANCED AUTHORIZATION and then when you get to the outside Doctors Office they have to call a number on the card and get an authorization number and clearance before they see you.
It won't stop until they are out of office. Everything us Vets do is no longer respected by the majority. There are still good people/patriots who respect us, however it is becoming a rarer and smaller group.
People often have no idea why Veterans deserve anything like whatever it is we get. Makes it easy for them to cut spending and give it, I dunno, to the UnwillingToWork crowd; larger voter base there than with Veterans.
But to this story...do any of you actually Trust VA Administrators to do the right thing with whatever money they get?
"So, the question becomes how to get the bad actors out of office, and ensure they are replaced with people who give a damn."
We the people have to care before we can elect leaders that care and past elections indicate that what we have is what most people want.
Ignorance and apathy rule.
It started with mandatory education, imo, just a polite term for social engineering. I have not much hope for this country's future. We tend to glory in our past and ignore our present and disregard our future.
That is much more uncomfortably true than I like to think about. It was Robt. A. Heinlein who wrote that: "Any given society has precisely the government that it deserves..."
Unfortunately, that means that those of us who actually give a damn are in the minority,
and very likely to be flushed down the commode with all of the foolish ones
Is it any wonder that people are thinking (with considerable alarm) about what the future may hold,
and wondering how to survive the ruin of America?
