Need Help Finding the Right Motor Mount

I have a 1978 F150 2 wheel drive with a 300 motor.

I cannot seem to find the right motor mount for my truck.

I have now tried Rock Auto, O'reilly, and Napa Parts. All three have given me the same motor mounts for my truck which are the wrong mount, too tall, and with different rubber than my current mounts.

The ones that seem to come up when ever the part is looked up are Anchor 2442, and Anchor 2441 at least with Rock Auto and O'reilly. Napa had a different # but still anchor and a different #.

I am hoping someone can give me the right part # and a source to find them.

Could it be that your engine has been swapped?

Did you look for tell-tale PNs /casting numbers, or other markings? Maybe it's a newer or older style mount.

There were part #s on them when I had them off. I took a picture and somehow lost it on my phone. they were in a place on the mount that would have to be removed again to find it. I may have to remove one side again to find the #s.

I had the same problem with my '78 F150 and 300 Engine. I ended up ordering for an econoline E150 mount and it matched the originals.

Every place I went to the mounts were too tall and was a bitch to install the engine!

2332 and 2332 Anchor was the right motor mount for my 78 F150 with a 300. The Ford Part # on the original mounts 2327-1 and 2328-1.

Thanks so much ZarK-eh ! You helped me solve my problem. Also of a great help was the young woman at O'Reilly's Auto Parts who did some cross referencing and found the right motor mounts! Here is a picture of the right #s from Anchor for my truck. What a huge difference the new motor mounts made. Hard to tell it was running when I first started it up.

I'll have to add a note about those #'s!

Not sure what happened to the aftermarket mounts, but they seem to be for the '80's and up trucks.
