recently my truck went into limp mode. checked out many forums and had some great threads here. from what can figure out is there is a short in my harness, engine panel has blown fuse in 23. should I check the right side by the o2 tube first? it is -5 below so I don't have much time to be outside before I freeze up. by the way it is a 4x4 with a 5.4. thanks
Well it's not Limp mode you have.
It's a whole lot of circuits out of power.
Fuse 23 feeds the transmission solenoids,, Ox sensor heaters and some other circuit functions.
If you were to look at codes, there would be a long list of failure codes.
Yes, find the ground out that is blowing the fuse.
Look back around the exhaust for burn or rub-through.
The harness comes up the passenger side to the back of the motor from the trans and sensors.
Good luck.
