ok, heres my problem , its snowed over night and it was around -9 at 5am. she was pluged in. started fine and let it idle till it was at op. temp. i hit the highway and baout 15 mins ito my trip she started acting very odd. she wouldnt go over 40 mph, started to shack violently and loss rpms. i pulled over and put in in (N) and she would idle but man, it was rough. 5 mins of that she die. was a hard start but start and idle rough. i figured it gelled, i have anit gell in it anyways so i didnt think it was the cause. i had it tested and one injector was miss firing. replaced it, and still continues. i blew out the lines and had recently changed the fuel filters, and after the injector replacement, i replcated them anyways, still same issue. after she starts and gice it throtle shes fine as if nothing hapen. take my foot off the pedal and acts like crap. im lost
Sounds like could be a very bad case of stiction.
What are your FICM volts? What is your fuel pressure? Do you have the blue spring installed? What is your icp when it's acting up?
ficm is new, was replcaes when headgasket was done, its 48 v. and just ordered the blue sprong and icp i have no idea how to do that but ik it was repclaced

Have you checked for DTC's? You can have pending codes without a check engine light. My guess is a dead injector, you would be amazed at how bad it will run with one bad injector

What mustang said. Also you need to get something to read pids. ScanGauge ii or odbii adapter and app. It is a must for these engines and will save you tons.
You perfectly describe what happens when fuel gells up and flow gets restricted through the primary filter. Diesel 911 will liquefy the gelled fuel and an anti-gel additive should prevent future gelling.
The diesel fuel we have in NW CT seems to gell easily. Even though fuel sold is supposed to be treated for cold conditions, there is no way to know for sure.
If your truck continues to act like you described, pull the primary (frame mounted) fuel filter and inspect it. If it is full of jelly, you know for sure what the problem is.
i already checked the fuel pump on frame and replaced filters (X2). what i dont uder stand is everything checks out good, and its in a heated warehouse. im starting to onder if i have 2 weak batteries/alternator

alright so i dont have anything like that, so i looked in to this and other programmers/ monitors. edge ingifht cts seams to do a lil more. what should i be looking for and get, really expesnives so i wanna get the right one

Well the insight is great for monitor pids. Although I would like to get it myself and add the fuel pressure and egt to it. To get started (and for backup) id get the obdii adapter and torque pro or dash boss (depends on operating system of phone or tablet) I say this since you will probably be getting the edge and the app is much cheaper than the Scanguage.
alright got a scangauge 2, ficm 49 v, ipr 25.3, icp 662 at idle, 15 mins, everything good, starts to actt up, then rough idles the stalls, im falling back on a fuel related part. i may be thinking gelled fuel go into the reg and weaken the spring. i have ordered the ble spring kit

After 10-15 minutes of idle combustion gasses will fill the fuel rail and start killing adjacent cylinders. I had one recently on a truck and it ended up being a pintle inside one injector not sealing.
Pull the secondary filter and crank the engine using the starter solenoid wire near the cowl/ fender well on the passenger side. While cranking, watch for bubbles coming up from the bottom of the resevoir.
I hope this is clear.
