Well tomorrow my X goes in for the third time for the rear bumper senors. As soon as I put it in reverse the BEEP signals continously, with nothing in or out of sight. First visit they replaced the main module, second visit they said they found a bad wire, taped it and re-routed the wire hardness. After 2 hour drive to PA, I go to park and (you guessed it) BEEP!!!
I called today to complain, and asked to have the whole thing replaced. Just my luck a "Ford Super Tech" is visiting, seems their turning over to him.
Has anyone had a similuar problem? What was done to correct?

Only once have I had this problem. I was backing out of my parents' driveway and the rear parking assist started beeping faster, then went solid. I could see nothing was there, and continued to back up, the entire time the beeping solid. Once on the street, I went forward, and nothing was there. (I neither saw anything, nor felt anything.) I do not know what caused it. It has not done it since. I hope that your problem has been fixed.
Originally posted by msutton331 I have had the same problem. It is frequent, but not 100% of the time. Each time I take it to the dealer, they "Can't duplicate the problem".
Could be my imagination, but it seems to occur in very hot weather on black (asphalt?) and/or wet surfaces?
Let us know when you find out what the problem is.
Thanks
I am trying to recall if the backup sensors use infrared or not. If they do, I should keep my nightvision goggles in the truck. If the system goes nuts, apply the emergency brake and hurry out to see what things 'look' like back there. (Nightvision goggles use infrared for illumination. You can see infrared light, as if you were in a dark room without goggles and used a flashlight.) Of course, this would only be effective at night.
It took 3 trips to dealer to fix my sensors. Finally they replaced all sensors on the bumber. I live on 6 miles of bad gravel road and no problems for last 3 months.
Obviously, this is a problem that is caused by a cosmic event, one that only happens when the third, sixth and first planets align. It send off a neutron particle that interacts with quasar gas….(quasars have some really bad gas) this ultimately sends, only by random, a stealthy cosmic quirk. Now the interesting phenomena here is that they only land behind an Excursion, probably proving the hypothesis that everything in the universe loves X’s. Remember this is only a random happing!!!
