92 idi starting issues.

Ok guys I have a 92 7.3 and I'm having trouble get it to crank up. It works fine when I have it plugged in over night, but Im certain of an error somewheres. Whether it be bad glow plugs or bad injectors. Maybe even a bad lift or ip pump.
I'll turn the key on and immediately the gp solenoid starts ticking, probly 20 to 30 times when cold... no wts light, no buzz or chime, just ticking. Anyways, sometimes she'll bust off after 5 to 10 seconds of cranking and 2 times of ticking, others I could sit and drain the batteries, but that's when I turn to starter fluid. I know it's horrible and I really try not to do it. So, when she does bust off, it runs really rough and lots of white and or blue smoke. I have been searching google like crazy the past few days and can't find the exact same problems. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. And thanks in advance.
Also, after I turn the truc off, I can hear fuel leaking, possibly back to the tank. I read it could be a cracked injector/body. Can these be visible cracks? Haven't tried cuz i hate taking my injector lines off. But I definitely will if this is possible.

first thing i would do is take a test light or volt meter to a glow plug wire and see if you get power to them at cold engine key on.

it really sounds like the engine probably has autolite glow plugs in it that are burned out.
but it may also be a bad relay or controller.

Yeah I tried that yesterday. Each gp connector has power only while the solenoid is ticking.

yes, when cold it will smoke like a pig until it warms up if the glow plugs are not working.

it sounds like the controller and relay are working properly than, and the glow plugs are bad.
motorcraft ZD-9 glow plugs only, you can buy them for $9.12 each from rockauto.com.

Ok that helps big time! Thanks. I added in my post earlier about my injectors. Do you have any input on that?

i have never run into a cracked injector body on a ford, but have seen it many times on chevys.
do you know how many miles are on the injectors? service life is around 100,000 miles, but i push them to 150-170k miles before changing them.
