Hello, This is my first thread on this site so bare with me!
I have a 1995 ford ranger XLT and mostly everytime I turn on the heat at somepoint, the car makes a weird sound, like it sounds like one long hoot from a owl or something. Today I tried to wait for it with the hood open so i could pinpoint where the sound was coming from. When I heard it, it sounds like its coming from the passenger side, Which is where the blower motor/box is. Also note that the driver side vent does not blow out any air, all the other vents blow air. this problem seems to only happen when I use the defrosters.
And how hard is it to take apart and replace the blower if you do think its the problem?
Thanks
Grif
Might be a blend door issue. Take the glove box out and have a look behind it - work the defrost/heat controls while watching the blend doors and stuff hooked up to them... You might have a stuck door; broken linkage; or something else going on...

Does it help if I told you that I hear a cranking sound after I turn off the heat? And I never noticed any "owl" noises during the summer when I had the AC on.
Do you think it may be the air temperature door actuator?
And how hard is it to find the blend doors on a 1995 ford ranger?
*Im not to much of a mechanic, but I would love to learn.
