dying at idle

my 88 f-150 with a 350 efi for some reason is idling fine then just dies,or comes close to, than idles fine, than a few seconds later does it again i thought i might have had an air leak around the intake manifold and sprayed starter fluid around it and it didnt rev up any. i need some direction, oh yea it runs fine when im on the throttle.

Have you pulled the codes to see if the computer sees anything wrong? I would do that first, followed by cleaning the IAC.

Had the exact same problem with mine. Replaced the IAC, problem solved. You might just try cleaning the IAC as wizard suggested but replacing it definetly solved my problem
