I need a engine harness that work connects to a 97 motor but plugs into a '00 f250. Can I just use a regular '00 engine harness? Or do I have to splice them together? The harness thats on there is connected with a bunch of butt connectors they got all twisted up and just look nasty.
The 2000 harness is what you want I think. I don't know if the pin layouts would be the same on the 42 pin connector from the 97 to 00. Some of the sensors are different though
And if the engine isn't a Cali engine then it isn't going to run correctly. Cali engines have split shot injectors like the SD do. States truck have single shots.
Wouldn't it be best to put all the original '00 sensors, senders, controls, etc. on the '97 engine, and keep all the original '00 wiring? IOW, just use the _mechanicals_ of the '97 engine?
