I have a chance to get a set of heads ported and polished but they are different casting #s. They are C2AE and C3AE, is this good or is it bad?? Any help???

It's all good if the price is right... I would maybe hold out for the casting experts here, but I personally do not recall any issues between the two heads that would differ. That of course is my recollection, tapping into a less than perfect memory.

I had a mis-matched set of heads on my 390 before I rebuilt it.
I think they were different years also..
But one had the "injected air" holes in em that were blcoked off.
The other one didn't.
I had no problem with them

c2ae and c3ae are the same head different year. I got a c1ae and a d2ea head on my 390, it runs fine and has enough power to scare some people. Hard seats are a good idea for the oldies.
