Tonight when pulling off my drivers door I noticed I do not have a light in the lower light lens in the door. There is no receptacle for a bulb and no wiring either. I have the wiring for the driver presets, but that is it. Is this normal for an '05 Eddie Bauer?
Mine does not have the lights, it however does have room for them. Dunno what would change 04-05.
According to stoppedebaja (might be mutilating his name from memory, it's up in the tech folder) they got rid of the courtesy lights in 2002-03 ish. He has an install guide.
The 2004 and 2005 models did not have them. They were dropped from the lineup along with the hood blanket, the sound dampening flap in the wheelwells, the underhood light, the front hood air seal, etc.
I was able to retrofit all of the items into my 2005 years ago. Many of the parts should still be available.
As far as the door light, you will need to get the proper lens, a two color unit white and red. Then, the bulb holder is a standard size unit. Let me look and see if I can find that size number. ...... dorman 645-573 should work.
The wire that it needs to be hooked to is under the sill plate on drivers and passenger door. I believe it was the blue/white wire. It may be different on your vehicle.
The major pain areas is in just getting the right parts first along with all the wiring, crimps and tools. Then there is having to remove the interior kick panel on each side to run the wiring properly up through the flex conduit and then into the door.
