1977 f250 stalling

1977 f250 stalling
So im new to this website, but i figured while im here i might as well get some help while i need it. i recently got a 77 f250 custom that had a 390 swap and a t19 trans swap. since ive got it its been nothing but trouble. as of now my problem is that its stalling constantly when i come to a complete stop. at this point i cant even get it into 3rd without it either stalling or bucking, backfiring hard, then stalling. ive checked vac lines and have found no leaks and just replaced both fuel filters. i havent gotten to do anything with the carb so far but thats on todays agenda. the truck seems like its starving for fuel by the way its acting. im going to do points and condensor today after work and update from there, but i dont think thatll be the solution. any ideas would be appreciated.

Well, my 88 f250 xlt lariat sometimes when i let it idle, stalls out. Now there is a sensor up top that regulates fuel flow that i think is bad. Idk what you 77 has, does it have a similar sensor? Just throwing ideas out there
