I have a 460, have owned for about 30 years, that when I tell people what it is look at me like I'm nuts. It came out of a 73 mercury that was a highway patrol car. It is internally balanced, has cobra jet heads with the heat passages factory filled, 11.3 to 1 compression, .510 lift-300 degree duration cam, and external oil cooler. All of the 460 police interceptors I have seen have the rocker bar and not individual rockers, are externally balanced. When I bought the engine the man I bought it from showed me an article in a magazine discussing this engine but having been many a moon ago I forgot what it said. Any help would be appreciated.
