I worry about this chapter - a lot of me went into it, maybe too much.

There is a book out there called "Flight of the Buffalo" that deals with leadership and management. Among other things in it, there is a point made that you never ever get the very best from your people until you trust them completely. Enough so that you can set up a meeting, and walk right out of the room until it is over...

The book got it's name because it was so controversial in it's approach that at least one manager type made the comment: "Yeah, right! WHEN BUFFALOES FLY!"

I seriously believe that this is precisely what I have to do. But I worry still...

That right there tells me I need to let go and see what happens, even if it is the hardest thing I may ever do.

He was absolutely right in what he said.

I would be less than I want to be if I didn't own up - no matter who it was.

 

Yup...I've eaten crow a few times at least on a public thread when it was warranted......

Besides.....Even the "rookies" get it right sometimes....(haha)

 

There are no rookies in my view - lose that. They are real people going somewhere they have never been before.

Just like WE did...

There was no intent of being ugly, just saying what I thought. I enjoy reading this site. I wish there was a lot more talk here. I hope it is like the pink enegerizer rabbit......keeps going and going and going.

 

The thing I love the most about real Tennesseans - they gonna tell you what they really do think, no matter what!

And I didn't mean anything derogatory in the term "rookie" (see post #5).....Just a term for a new-guy......Hell, for all I know, you're 50 years old and have seen the world.....New to FTE is all........

Well CMPD I am over 50, but I have not saw the world.....yet.

 

I've seen most of it - we're best off right where we are. (Trust me)
