Anyone got a diagram of where the clips go for this engine harness?

Whoever was under this thing before disconnected the ground and looks like some other stuff doesn’t seem right.

appreciate the help in advance

The part number I gave you is for a 2000 year model. If you don’t get an OEM part, you can at least use the number I gave you for a reference.

I got plugs put in and injectors reconnected.

was wondering how to test everything. Before I put everything back together.

I ordered the harness from a supplier on Amazon YC3Z12B637BA.

I found another guy local on eBay for 145 delivered. Not sure if I want to wait another week to save $60 bucks though. I would rather get back to work.

anyone know how much work it is to swap the harness or any pointers?

or should I use the included pig tails for the valve cover harness connectors and solder them into old engine harness? I would think they are about the same amount of work but I don’t have experience.

let me know what I might be getting myself into. Thanks guys

$145 for a Engine harness? These things either went way down in price or its cheap Chinese crap. Because an engine harness was about $1300 for OEM.

I think it’s a combination of both.

I saw somewhere during my search a ford brand harness for $580. Don’t quote me.

I’ll see if I can find it again.

I guess I’ll try to fire this up as is. And see what happens.

anyone know where the ground wire is suppose to bolt to engine? I was thinking about bolting to head with valve cover bolt. Is this ok or does it need to be somewhere else?

I think the ground wire is on the back of the engine but don't quote me on it.

I did NOT mean the actual Harness,
just the Vendor, you have to select the one appropriate for your vehicle.

I found a thread that had info about the ground wire. It goes to the aih.

I don’t know if I’m missing the insulator or what bit I don’t think I can get it into it. From what I found I guess I can just leave it without.

next problem

I somehow lost a valve cover bolt.

I had the truck towed to my house so I could work on it. Can I order a single bolt and can I run the truck without a bolt for a while?

if so which is the best place to do this.

and last question.

where does the dip stick fish back down threw to get it back into the oil pan. I pulled it out on accident and didn’t look before I pulled it all the way up to get it out of my way.

Ok so some done. Still getting codes.

I got the harness swapped, glow plugs in, plumbing all back together. Now I have the crank case seals on order and I tried to fire her up and getting p0674, p0678, and p0673. All glow plug issues but not the ones I initially swapped. Odd cause I put all new ones in.

maybe gpcm now?

please let me know and is there a good aftermarket option and can I bench test the original ?

Pull the black and green engine harness plugs from the GPCM and look for burnt terminals. In a case like this I will order a used oem GPCM from another engine...it's the same part on the 6.0L and 6.4L Powerstrokes...that has the plugs with it where they simply cut the wires for removal. You can then pop that blue cover plate off and get at the terminals to re-pin them instead of splicing in a pigtail. It may take a little more time, but I hate splicing in a scenario like this. I'll be doing this again shortly...part should be here tomorrow...because I watched a well known guy on youtube showing how to re-wire the relay and ground for the AIH delete. He was wrong and it popped the black plug power source as it is shared with the AIH relay. This could be your situation given you stated someone at some point did the AIH delete...

If you are not replacing the terminals, especially the female variety, you may be back in the same boat as these terminals lose their spring tension due to having been overheated. I like the thought of not splicing the harness, just not reusing the terminals. I would at least try to find replacement terminals before I would put it all back together. Good luck.

I squeeze down on them to make sure they go on fitting tight into the male prongs...

Sounds like you have done this more than once. Exactly the point I'm trying to make!
