I thinks i need new motor and tranny mounts. Since i put the bosy lift on and bent the 4 x4 shifter to clear the cab. i can feel it rub my leg when driving. When the truck shifts it literally smacks me in the leg to to point that it starts to leave a bruse. It moves under aceleration 1 to 2 inches to the pass side, then snaps back at the shift. I will recheck everyting to make sure they are tight. Can i get the polyurithan mounts to relace them? Do i even want poly mounts? Should i just replace with stockers. Let me in on your experience. Also i get a really loud clunk when i put the truck in gear. My rear joints ar new but could it be the slip yoke worn in the tailshaft of the t case. How hard would it be to change the output shaft on it if they both are realy worn.
You must have a LARGE LIFT!!! Hows the weather up there? HEE HEE. You mean the T-case shifter is hitting your leg? I would go with poly mounts. Up to about 400hp. Your current mounts seem to be a bit worn, but with the lift, it just makes it more noticable.
There's also a "clunk" when you put it in gear. Did this happen, after the lift? And, how high of a lift did you install? Since you replaced the U joint on the rear, I would go ahead and replace the one at the T-case. If you still get the "clunk", and you have an automatic tranny, you may be able to get away with a cheap rebuild, if it's just the chain has streched. I'd start with the U joint though. Buy DANA or SPICER joints. You don't want to lose your driveshaft at 60 mph!!! Get back to us, thanks....
3 " body lift. I replaced both rear shaft joints when i did it. I think its ether the output shaft on the t case or the yoke. I just had the reanny rebuilt and it did this before that and the lift. Wher can i get poly mounts?
Check out any 4X4 magazine web-site and go to their links, many, many manufacturers to check out and drool over... Most Poly manufacturers offer a lifetime warranty also, so you only have to buy them once! Talk with you guys later.
