2010 lariat STOCK I'm going to put a intake and exhaust System on what else can I do to get some more power for quick cheap bolt on's? Without supercharging
I run all my truck 100% stock, but I do try to keep up on this topic. here's my take:
- Intake and exhaust mods make the truck SOUND faster, which is enough for some guys.
- Tuners usually do lay down verifiable power gains, and sharper shifting, which does make the truck faster. There are some tuning companies with better reputations than others, don't just go by the claims on the website, poke around a bit.
Eenie meenie chilli beanie,
the spirits are about to speak!
LOL!!! Are they friendly spirits?
Anyway, about the only bolton mod that'll make some power, is a supercharger, and yup, that ain't cheap.
I'd suggest you get a tuner, after you do whatever with the exhaust/intake. Stage3 has a deal with 5* that can burn custom tunes for you, to match your mods. $450+/-. Lifetime tunes as well.
Don't expect much other than a nicer sound with exhaust/intake though.
If you want more HP , more giddy up and less throttle lag .... Before you buy an intake and exhaust ... Buy an SCT X4 tuner , install the 87 perf/tow tune and Maybe you'll see you dont need to buy those other expensive mods that wont give you near the HP gain a tune will ...... Expensive ...yes and no ... Less than what an Intake and exhaust will cost ..... No doubt Id buy a tuner and forget the intake and maybe buy an exhaust ....
