1987 Tailgate latch discontinued
I was recently informed by several Ford parts dealers that the tailgate latch has been superceded by a newer p/n. The new replacement requires replacement of the post and latch which will cost about $185.
Anybody no where I can find a pair of tailgate latches for my 1987 F-150?

You could try to find a donor '87 pickup in a junkyard,or you might search e-bay under car/truck parts.You might also try a few places online that have factory replacement parts for '87-'91 Ford trucks.I found a few companies while searching for replacement parts for my '90 Bronco.Sorry,I can't remember the names,but search:1987 Ford pickup parts,and you should get some website leads.

I just did a quick search,and found three possible sites you might want to check out. They are:www.shermanparts.com,www.jobriteauto.com,and,w ww.autostyles.com I'm not certain if they'll have your latch,but it couldn't hurt to check 'em out. Hope you find it.
