Looks like my thermostat is not opening correctly. Temp gauge reads pretty cool (needle barely hits the normal mark) and it is reflected in luke warm air. Didn't used to be this way, but thinking I need a new thermostat. Do folks prefer for the FE motors the 180 or 195?
I went with a 180° t-stat. I RTV'ed the t-stat to the housing before installation cuz it has a tendency to slip
Reminder...Drill a 1/8-inch hole on the flange to allow trapped air to escape upon installation. And on an FE the mounting surface is vertical, so orient the hole at 12 o'clock high. Party on!

thanks! On the flange, near the edge? off the edge a few mm?
Thanks. I'm going to get both gasket options. My engine is from 67 Fairlane and the gasket could've been a 2 1/2 ID or 2 1/8 ID depending on date code. Interestingly it says a 74 f100 could've taken either too. And couple references I saw said truck motors could take two gaskets.
