Last week fyi you just have to know the right people
With what you said, Heck you could make a nice profit building motors at your low great prices. And then flip those rebuilds for a lot of buck$ you'd be flowing in cash like a river of endless money.
Or rebuilding heads with harden exh seat for as cheap you listed in you earlier first post on this page..
HA! When was the last time you had an engine done? Just a valve job with hardened seats is 6-700. That's what I was quoted from a couple different shops.
I just had a pair of chevy 350 heads redone with hardened seats and new guide seals for $250.

If that shop had to cut & press in new harden Exh. seats in your pair of unleaded heads, then yea got a unbeatable great price.
Or did they just freshen up a pair of heads for unleaded gas, then that's about the cost in most places.
When doing a set of Fe heads with harden seats most shop here want to do the job right, and install all new valve guides and new exh valves since they get the hottest and are the weakest if they were run 75-100k+ the edge lip gets pretty thin after cutting them and they will get hotter then a valve with more meat on the v-heads.
Plus the v stems will height is all the same class A job done on them.

They were freshened up with stock springs and all. When I picked them up, he told me they were in almost perfect condition under all the gook and oil.
Guides with k-liners installed or totally new valve guides? Man, sounds cheap to me also. Must be a small town good o' boy. Not meant to be a jab, just mean he must be from back in the day 2 cases of could get you a trans rebuilt.
Cheap crate engine. To be sold cheap they must be built cheap. China piso parts.
Ancient wise man once say- Fast, Reliable, Cheap. Choose two of those but you cant have all three.
We have a sign in the machine shop that says
"we provide services fast, cheap, and perfect. But you can only have it two ways
If you want it fast and cheap, it won't be perfect
If you want it fast and perfect, it won't be cheap
If you want it cheap and perfect, it won't be fast"
