Well, the first road trip is complete and I think I have run the gambit of what this truck can expect, minus the towing part. I did a lot of highway miles in 4X4, had 600 lbs of grain in the bed, -0f temps and less than stellar diesel pump performance at the fill-up station. Lessons learned...choose your fill-up stations carefully, keep anti-gel in the truck in the winter and 4X4 use doesn't effect the milage as much as it does with the gas engine. 16.7 MPG mixed for the trip, and the heated seat and unlimited Howard Stern kept the wife mellow during the horrific traffic/ice storm on the way home. Great truck so far...
don't keep the anti gel in the truck if cold. I needs to stay warmer. If you are traveling and the cab is warm that is different but take in inside to stay about 32F.

Indoor storage is not a luxury I have with this rig, her hips are to wide to fit in the garage. In NC the temps rarely get cold enough to be concerned about it, the winter blend they sell here should have me covered. I only added it because we were in Pennsylvania for the weekend, and mostly for peace of mind. Worst case scenario is I burnt through a couple tanks of fuel with additive in it, no biggie.
Edit...If we do end up moving somewhere cold, I will certainly install a block heater, not an issue here in NC.
