Hi all,
I finally took delivery (I bought it) of my brother's 2001 F250 CC 4x4 5.4. I need to install my electric brake controller. My question is: Where do i mount the unit? Much of the lower part of the dash is verticle and it would stand out and look goofy. Where did you guys mount yours? Any suggestions would be appreciated? Thanks.
i put mine inside the cuby hole. drilled a hole in the back of the compartment for the wires, 2 sided taped the controler down. out of the way and looks clean.
i have mine sticking out just far enough to still get the lever. did mine like that and since everyone has seen it i have done at least a dozen more. i don't know what your controller looks like though, there are alot of different types.
I too installed my controler just below the cubby like Nafzimo has pictured. I used double back tape to hang it under the dash and have had no problems for going on 4 years now. This install allowed easy access to the wiring and did not require drilling any holes. I figured that when I buy a new truck, I can easily remove the unit and take it with me. The location allows for pretty good access and it is out of the way.
I have the Voyager controller in mine (similar to the prodigy). Did the same as spartamouse1, drilled a small hole in the back of the cubby hole and 2 sided taped it in. The face sticks out just a bit so that you can get to the emergency lever. This way it is supported, you don't have to worry about the tape coming off.
