Manaul Locking Hub HELP!!!!

Could some please tell me what model this is or better yet give me a Warn or Mile Marker part number or model number for a replacement.

Here is what I know so far; it's on a 76 F-250 390 engine
Front axel has 44 stamped on the tab but hubs are clearly not from a 44 axel they look more like a 60 BUT I have looked at Warn locking hubs for both the Dana 44 and 60 and neither will work. The 6 bolts to hold the hubs on are WAY too small on either of the Warn's.

The truck is in a shop and I can't get to it right now. The goal was to have the new hubs purchased before I got her back but it is proving (as always) to be more difficult than I expected.

As always any help would be greatly appreciated.

Those are Dana44HD, found in the Hiboy's. The original "spicer" lockouts are the best lockouts made IMO. All the warns and MM are junk.
What's wrong with the ones on it?

X2 on this. Pull them apart, clean them up with kerosene, re grease and rock on. In my opinion the only other acceptable aftermarket manual locks are yukons.

Thanks Scott79! The main issue is as seen in the attached picture. I wonder if it would be easier to find a replacement for this broken ring. This ring is supposed to be one piece.

ok, it has been forever since I have replaced hubs, but don't you get the inner and outer part, so the size of these bolts don't matter? Isn't the inner part held in by the snap rings and the outer part bolt to it?

Looks like this was used in Chevys also. Give you another source for parts.

Here is a link to a service manual: http://www2.dana.com/pdf/5305.pdf

And here is a link to a nice tech thread on rebuilding it, what they came in and lots of other useful info: Anatomy of the Dana 44 Spicer External "Hub Loc" Locking Hub

ps found this place that seems to be the best in parts for these hubs. didn't see what you need but he also does used parts so might have it. http://www.quad4x4.com/home.html

Look at the lower parts catalog pic: Arrows point to basic part numbers. Pick out the basic part number(s) you want, I'll give you the complete part number(s) and source(s) that may have it.

btw: No Ford dealer or obsolete parts vendor has the 1A029 (D2TZ-1A029-A) red "FORD" lockout hub ****.

These 3.5M hubs were also used on 1971 F250 4WD's from serial number L80,001 & 1972 F250 4WD's.

yes, these were on chevy's also, fords center plastic piece was red, chevy a gold color. When you put them back together,DO NOT over greese them. IMO these were the worse hubs made.

AND the blue dials were used on Dodge's....I've run these hubs for 40yrs in lots of trucks, all my buddies that are hard core mudders/puller's will only use these as well. EVERYONE on Pirate4x4 prefer the spicer over everything except Yukon's. Maybe some like the aftermarket junk but these are the MOST desirable, just like the spicer original D60's.

FYI---1A030 is the rubber oring that fits on the underside of the turn dials. Based on your pic, I figured you need 1A023
