I need an old, beat-up 48-55 headlight trim ring or headlight door, as some call it. I need it for my garage art 54 grille that hangs in my garage. This was the beat up Swiss Cheese grille that was on my truck in 1999 before I got the truck painted. A new or good used one would not look right on this grille. The ones I see on ebay are too good, so I am thinking somebody has one taking up space in your garage. It only needs to have that 'hook' thing at the top and a screw hole at the bottom, dings and dents don't matter.
I will pay what you want (within reason! Ha-ha!) plus shipping.
Well I guess I won't go to the garage and check mine. I think I have one that is in good shape but has a hole punched out of it. (No, not the one where the headlight goes.)
I've been watching American Pickers. Aren't beat up trim rings worth about $500 each?
Dennis lives in the area I grew up in. I am now 2.5 hours away. If I get down to visit my brother or sister I could stop in with Dennis and see his 54 and 56 trucks.... It is no hurry. That grille has been hanging in my garage for years like that. I guess another month or so won't hurt.
That will work Abe. We want to go up to the cabin during the maple sugar season, but we'll have another couple with us. Dennis
I'll PM you or call you before I come down, or if you want to stop at my place on your way to the cabin, let me know. Or I could meet you in Williamsport if you go up route 15.
Well, that sounds like fun. I will have to take a day and come down to visit my brother and sister and stop in at your place. I will give you a call before to set it up!
Abe you should turn grill into s shop light over your work bench. Saw one in a thread awhile back, looked pretty cool. If I can mange the time to go get some fenders an whatnot from the JY I might do that myself.
