Well, I got my surplus 37" tires on the wheels and on the truck today. I am really happy with the color (Cast Iron Gray) and the tires look awesome. I think I will put an add-a-lead on the front or do a shackle reversal. The tires rub nowhere and it rides better than before. I adjusted my rear brakes while I had the wheels off and found that some of the brake hardware was not installed correctly. So now I have new wheels/tires as well as rear brakes/parking brakes that actually work.
Good looking truck. Love what you did with the front bumper. Now that you have the 37s will you be regearing it?
When I put 37s on I lost some mpg. Plus towing was a bit harder. Gained both back with some 5.13 gears

No, torque is no problem and the additional tire diameter brings my revs down on the hwy. I will check it over the next few weeks to see how it affects the mileage. I don't tow real heavy with this truck and have a '02 SD PSD to use if I do. This is pretty much just a hobby truck.
Unless a person is off roading, I believe in only as much lift as needed to clear the chosen tires. Any more than that is for looks.
Then it becomes a matter of taste, and I won't knock taste whether I like it or not.
Using SD springs (even if just B codes in the rear) will help your ride quality. SD front leafs with an RSK as suggested will be an additional improvement.
What surplus tires are those? I don't recognize the tread pattern.
They are Goodyear MTR with Kevlar. The hummers started using these and BFG Baja tires a while back. These are my favorite due to the lugs on the sidewall.
This truck may see a ditch or something while hunting but it isn't a rock crawler. I crossed it up pretty good and turned the wheel, no rubs. Cutting the bumper is key and using enough offset.

The front bumper IS a major factor as is the correct offset. Too much and you will rub sheet metal and fender wells, not enough and you rub the leaf springs.
My next set will be the BFGs in a D load range. Yours have a good look too.
The BFGs ride a little better according to the fellow that sells them. They are wider at the tread and more square and seem like they might rub easier than the MTR. Mine are E as I wanted the 10 ply. I only have 35psi in the front and 30 in the rear and they hardly flex LOL. My wheels are 8.25 at the beads and 3.5" backspace. I have been told 4" will not hit the spring but I have not seen it in person.
I don't like big lifts. I do think I will get the front up a couple of inches though to level it.
I agree. Im not into the lifted trucks. My fiberglass fenders allowed me to run 37x13.5. I did the opposite end though. I dropped the rear 2" by removing the factory blocks
Looks nice!! Love the cut front bumper, looks nice. I use washers and shim mine forward as much as I can on all my OBS trucks as I like chrome and don't want to cut any more than the corner off.
If you do a shackle reversal you'll be thrilled in ride quality difference, I was.
Went out this morning to the LF tire a little slack. Turns out it had a tiny hole we missed. Plugged it in my driveway and all the rest are fine. Took a few short trips today. Seems fine and rides good. Worked on bending up a light bar for the front bumper today. Going to pick up a complete Bronco fuel tank tomorrow morning.
