WHEEL BEARINGS

I am needing to change wheel bearings on my 2008 F150 2WD. Most of the info on the net shows changing the hub assembly on 4WD models. Since mine is 2WD, does that mean I can change just the bearings? I am hoping someone can direct me to info doing the job.

I don't know, but most all wheel bearings today are sealed and you replace the hub assembly. You also have to get the special hub for ABS brakes.

Did the same on my '07 2WD last year. Unless you have the chance to use a press, you are better off to just replace the whole rotor assembly. It is actually pretty easy. You will need new rotors, the special spindle nut, which is a 1 time use item. The hardest time I had was removing the but. Used a 1 7/16 socket and long ¾" drive breaker bar with a 4' cheater pipe. IIRC, the nut is torqued to nearly 300 ft/lbs.
