2007 Mountaineer Front Wheel Bearings

I need to replace the front wheel bearings on my 2wd 2007. Any pointers here on what parts to use?

I did this job on our 2002 several years ago and it wasn't too hard. The entire hub assy was pricey though. Is there a way to simply replace the bearing only?

I believe the front hub/ bearings will install just like your 2002 ....... and I think this comes as an assembly, bearing installed in the hub.. Don't think you can get them separate... You may have ABS pickup and ring built into the assembly.

I appreciate the reply and will plan on replacing the entire hub. It needs a 4 wheel brake job so I will have the front pretty much disassembled.

I thought there would be more traffic in this forum but it appears dead. Oh well...

Replaced the wheel bearings on the front and brakes all around. Rides nice and smooth again.

One bearing was definitely shot and was not very smooth at all. The other was relatively smooth but had a lot of resistance. Replaced it too so I wouldn't have to mess with it at another time.

All in all the job went pretty smooth. No stuck bolts. I had to knock the bearings out with a large hammer but it wasn't too bad.

Total bill at Oreilly's was 753.00. Pricey but should last for several years. I did get a pretty good discount due to knowing the manager too.
