Platform to watch the race from inside the track

So every year some friends and I rent a camp site inside the Charlotte Motor Speedway. We have a Keg-O-Bar that we haul down to the campsite, along with 12 6th-barrels of beer (5+ gallons per barrell). We then proceed to sit and drink beer while watching the Nascar Drivers spin around us for 600 miles of loud awesomeness. Not to mention the rest of the races that happen the weekend of the Coca-Cola 600.

Usually we stop by a neighbors site and use his platform during the race to actually be able to see what is going on. However this year I thought I'd build my own.

I've uploaded an image of the neighbors setup that he uses, and also one of the brick nose that I'd like to use for this.

So my question is, how would you do it? Would you start of with a ladder rack, like this one from Northern Tool, or just build something custom. As always the bigger the better, but as budget friendly as possible. Some other requirements are that it hold 5 or 6 guys, and if possible maybe a single tap kegorator.

Here is the only picture I could find of our 2013 setup. The bar is behind the chairs. Sorry for the quality.

No ideas, or even comments on the 70s truck with the sunroof? How about beer fans or Nascar fans?

Well, the way I see it if I was gonna start off with something like a ladder rack and then make major modifications to it, I'd rather just start from scratch and make it exactly how I want it.

Go custom!

And that sunroof... I will never own anything with a hole in the roof again! Ever.

Thanks Dixie. Think I will go custom. I'm thinking 1 by 2 from the stake pockets to line up with 7 ft total height. Think 11 gauge (I think that's about 1/8 in) would be strong enough to support say 1500 lbs of race fans. There will be 6 posts total. Would the bedsides hold up to that weight? I'm thinking of running a support rod around the base of the legs, maybe half inch or 1 inch sq tubing?

here's a shot for the campsite from the FanCam they run:

Sorry about the Jets sticker. Some people just have no taste.
