From everything I have read I dont think you can go wrong with H&S or Spartan for the 6.4. Between those 2, I think it comes down to personal choice and what you want to do with the truck. I did research over a year ago, but doing it all over again now that I am ready to pull the trigger. Both tune the trans, both can monitor everything about the truck, both have safeties to defuel on certain tunes, both have happy users with many miles that would recommend them to their friends.
You guys with experience can correct me where I am wrong.
Spartan has great tunes, 275 seems to be a good daily driver for those not towing. The 210 is good for towing, and also cycles the EGR at idle to keep it from sticking (assuming you are not removing EGR system and may want to return to stock at some point). Spartan focuses on Ford's which gives you confidence that they really understand YOUR truck.
Mini Maxx has great tunes as well and I think their real selling point is that you can shift on the fly between tunes whereas the Spartan requires you to stop/flash/and roll. Im not sure how the H&S tunes handle the EGR yet. I know they disable it on the higher tunes but not sure if there is an option like the Spartan 210 that cycles it at idle.
EPA apparently came down hard on H&S roughly a year ago??? This is why I am starting new research because my searches on this forum have turned up comments about how they are out of business, no longer provide updates or customer support, etc. I dont think those things are true but as I said, when you search these forums you will find these comments posted in 2014. I was all set to get the mini maxx, then the EPA thing happened and prices started to soar so I pushed off the idea entirely ..............until now.
